Doubling down: a strategy for Ukraine and for the whole West

Three years on from 24 February 2022, the Europeans have still not grasped the full significance of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, its implications in Ukraine and far beyond. The Americans, aware of what is at stake in terms of global security in the Far East, are clinging to the illusion of an alliance of setbacks, ignoring the disastrous consequences of any compromise with the Putin regime, including for Russia itself. On the basis of these fundamentals, more than 600 leading figures believe that the Americans and Europeans have no choice but to finally allocate to Ukraine all the resources that will enable it to defeat Russia militarily.

With Russia’s hybrid attacks on the Baltic Sea, Romania, Denmark, Germany, Moldova and Georgia gaining in strength and number, a crunch point has come. It is time for us to admit that Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine is just one part of a much wider project aimed at permanently fragmenting and weakening the West. Lire la suite →

Tre anni dopo il 24 febbraio 2022, né gli europei, né gli americani hanno ancora compreso appieno il significato dell’aggressione russa contro l’Ucraina e le sue implicazioni al di là dell’Ucraina. Con questo appello, seicento autorevoli personalità nordamericane ed europee ribadiscono che, per fermare il disegno di Putin, non esiste alternativa al fornire all’Ucraina le risorse militari necessarie per sconfiggere la Russia.

Mentre si moltiplicano e si intensificano gli attacchi ibridi della Russia nel Mar Baltico, in Romania, Danimarca, Germania, Moldavia e Georgia, è giunto il momento per l’Occidente di riconoscere che la guerra di aggressione della Russia contro l’Ucraina è solo una parte di un progetto molto più ampio, che mira alla frammentazione e all’indebolimento duraturo dell’Occidente.
